在玉龙县石鼓镇仁义有这样的一所小学。位于海拔3000米的山岭之中，最远的学生要跋涉10公里才能到达。木质结构的宿舍楼踩上去吱呀作响，门前的立柱脱色开裂，下雨时雨水透过破旧的房顶滴入房间，操场上泥浆溅湿裤腿。尽管如此，却从来没有人无故缺席。

2016年10月14日，云南少数民族希望工程代表团来到了这里。进行玉龙县石鼓镇仁义徒凤完小综合楼奠基仪式。为这里的孩子们带来窗明几净的教室和稳固的宿舍楼。仪式刚刚开始，天空就下起了瓢泼大雨。没有繁琐的仪式和冗长的发言，有的只是一句话：“快让孩子们避雨，小心感冒。”
云南少数民族希望工程代表团的成员们站在宿舍楼下，孩子们站在教学楼下，麦克风早已被大雨淋湿失去了声响，发言的成员却浑然不知。伴着雨声大家隔着操场，代表团成员和孩子们就远远地互相喊话。
